The powerful combination of award-winning apps and a proven method—YNAB’s Four Rules—has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people by teaching them to get control of their finances, stop stressing, and live the life they want to live. A Proven Method—YNAB’s Four Rules Rule One: Give Every Dollar A Job | Be intentional about what you want your money to do before you spend it. Rule Two: Embrace Your True Expenses | Break up larger, less frequent expenses into smaller, manageable amounts. By saving monthly for insurance premiums, holidays, or car repairs, when the time comes, your money is ready and waiting to do its job. Rule Three: Roll With The Punches | When life changes, so must your budget. Make adjustments and move along. Flexible budgets succeed because they’re guilt-free, realistic, and sustainable. Rule Four: Age Your Money | As you repeat the first three rules, you’ll increase the time between earning a dollar and the moment you need to spend it. • Life Changing and Great Customer Service

This is more than a budgeting app, it’s a new way of life. It’s amazing to finally have our arms wrapped around how we spend money. And YNAB’s customer service/tech support is ridiculously good. I got a reply on an issue within 15 minutes of putting it on (and on a Saturday!). Couldn’t be happier with YNAB.
  • Polished, Complete, and now MOBILE

I have tried YNAB more than a few times and while all the tools are there, updating budgets on the go was missing. First I t required a computer running the primary app and the mobile devices were complementary. The switch to web was better, but now the mobile app is STAND ALONE with support for iPad AND Apple Watch!! Finally I can trust my budgeting and transaction registering from my iPhone!! Thanks YNAB!!
  • Please Allow Rollover of Negative Balances

I've tried to use YNAB a number of times and it's like a bad girlfriend. You keep going back to it although you know that it won't work out. The #1 reason I leave is that you can't rollover negative balances to the next month. This used to be an option but was eliminated because this violates one of the pillars of YNAB. Makes life very difficult if you have work reimbursements that get paid the following month. I realize that this gets to the heart of the YNAB philosophy but life is not always so simple. I feel that users should have a little more ability to control how they implement YNAB's golden rules. Otherwise, a great app.
  • Love the app, but the numbers keypad

When I first started using the app I’d be punching in the wrong numbers because the number keypad is flipped from what a calculator, or dialing on a phone would be. I realize it is in the same configuration as a number pad on a keyboard, but I believe it is not ones natural inclination on a phone. Would love to see having an option to change this. Otherwise, great app. Love the features. In the budget tab it does seem that everything is mushed together. There isn’t a whole lot of differentiation between columns and groupings to make things feel more separate and distinguishable.

Only have one issue with the app right now. I frequently have to approve or categorize imported transactions twice; the first time doesn’t register

Well designed, simple to use. A very functional app that works alongside the web app beautifully. I especially like that when you enter a transaction it shows a brief pop up of the overall amount available from that category and shows the number change based on the transaction you just entered.
  • Best budgeting software!!!

I’ve used almost every budget software / website out there over the years and YBAB is by far the best. It has the best concept of allocating money from income, forcing you to deal with your budget when categories go negative, and allows you to pull together all your financial institutions into one place. I realize many other companies have the same features, YNAB simply does it better and things just work.

Love the app, just bummed that I can't get it to rotate into portrait mode on my iPad.
  • Wrong Bank URL and Broken Trblshooting links

Tried to sign up using account at local credit union, found the credit union, placed credentials to discover they have the WRONG URL. I submitted my banking credentials using this app to an incorrect URL. I then went their account setup troubleshooting page where I found broken links. Contacted support team, who reassured me that they would respond within a few HOURS, after sending my credentials to an outdated/incorrect URL. I'm sure the method works, but with broken links and incorrect links to financial institutions I would NOT reccomend this app.
