  • Most innovative Golf GPS app

    By CrazyHandSum
I am looking for a reason to buy an Apple Watch, and this app pushed me over the edge. I own a Garmin golf watch, but I only use it for golfing. Whenever I golf, I have to dig around to find the Garmin Watch, make sure it is charged, it is always a hassle. This app is the future, we just get an Apple Watch, use it for a variety of purposes, like notification, Apple Pay, and when I need to golf, I just start the TrackMyGolf app. This is the future, like iPhone did 10 years ago, one general purpose device (watch) and many different apps. Now, on to the review of this app. First, the Watch app. It is full of features. I think using the Watch sensors to detect your swing is so innovative, and it makes a lot of sense. If the Watch has enough sensors, it should auto record your game. I do not know why other apps do not do it, must be some hard technical challenge. Kudos to the TrackMyGolf team for solving it. On top of auto recording, the app also gives you swing analysis, which is very useful if I have time to review it on the course. I do wish the swing analysis results are saved, so that I can review it later when I have time, and possibly run correlation analysis on the data. Beyond theses, I also love the auto hole advancing feature, which is super convenient. If it makes a mistake, it also offers a quick way to go back. For the phone app, it is feature rich too. The one feature I use most often is hole fly over. On new courses I have not played, it gives me a quick overview, so I know where to go and I can plan my shots. I hesitate whether I should get a series 3 Watch because of this feature. The new Watch app would allow me to completely ditch my phone at home, but it is this feature that kept the phone on me. I guess if I play courses I know already, I should just use the Watch app. I have studied other golf gps apps, this one seems to be the only one that can be 100% independent of phone. I think smart watches is the best invention ever for the game of golf, nobody wants to carry a bulky item like a phone or a laser range finder. Garmin is one of those who realizes the potential early on, and their golf watch is super successful. Now Apple Watch is here, TrackMyGolf is the first to realize the potential to replace those specialized watches. Who has the wrist space to carry a watch for golf, another for notification? I love that I can now combine both in the same watch. Apple Watch is just getting better and better, the screen is getting brighter, the battery is lasting longer, the processor is getting faster, now I can carry those advancement to my golf watch, hooray! It is a long review, but if you do not have time, just simply remember to download it. You would not regret it. If you encounter any problem, just email support, they are super responsive. You cannot go wrong with this app. Updating on my reviews...., I am still using this app as my main golf gps app after so long. I did experiment with several other apps too, but I come to realize that none of them is as good as this app. Really like the convenience and thoughtfulness that went into this app when they designed it. I must say I may be stuck with it for a long time, in a good way.....
  • Hit or Miss on Apple Watch series 2

    By .calm of EPSILON PROJECT
This app is great when it works. I really only use it on my apple watch. Some rounds it’ll work perfect and some rounds it won’t at all. But when you’re out on the course you don’t want to have to troubleshoot and play around with something... you just want to focus on the round. 4 stars when it works flawlessly but 2 stars overall because when it only works 50% of the time you are out it’s a waste of time and a headache.
  • Drains Apple Watch

I took this out for its first spring today. It drained my watch dead before I finished the front nine.
  • Best Gps golf app!

    By deezel71
I love this app. The stand alone feature on the Apple Watch series 2 works great and it gives yardages instantly. Other apps have a delay that feels like forever when you’re on the course. The only thing that would really make this truly stand alone for me would be to add an arial the image of each hole. Don’t need it for my home course but would really be great to have when I’m on an unfamiliar course and I could keep my phone in my bag.

    Very good app
  • Does not work

    By edpb11
After getting anew iPhone the app will not work on my phone or watch. All I get is an error 1 or internal server error. I cannot sign in or reset my password. I have sent feedback and received nothing back. Bad support. Update. App now works. They reported server problems over the holidays.
  • Bad news app

    By Rocky53jn
Golf logix is much better option This app takes forever to download courses - and doesn’t work w my watch- despite specs saying it does. Phone app works fine but no excuse for Watch app to be so cumbersome / not workable
  • Needs some work

    By 2sidesof49
I use to be able to find course within a minute or so now taking five or ten minutes to find course. Score not saved. If you try to see scores on phone just spins with “Loading” nothing ever loads.
  • Doesn’t work and no customer support

I suggest you try another Goal GPS app, there are lots of them - I Tried MANY times to download, create an account and even find a golf course … none of this worked. I also reached out to the developers support site 3 times w/screenshots and got absolutely no response. Requested a refund of my subscription from Apple! No ideas why this is so highly rated … very weird.
  • Negative Personal Experience

    By k3|th
In my personal experience, I have a few unfortunate issues. The golf course caching does not function well. If I lose my cell signal on the course, the app will not load the current hole details. I have also had issues with the gps tracking. The app will sometimes take a long time to track my location and delay my play. The swing tempo tracker has only worked once for me. I have to manually enter my shot details for every hole which takes my focus away from my next shot. In summary, I deeply regret purchasing a one year subscription as I can’t get a refund.
