  • Love it!

Love this app. I’ve been using it for nearly five years, back to the original version, and personally I’m happy to pay the developers for their hard work in order to ensure that this app always stays updated. It’s perfect as a journaling app. I just wish it were called something simpler under the app icon, like Journals or something. I get that Day One is the company that makes the app but it doesn’t make a ton of sense as a name for a journal app...just my thoughts!
  • Example of a bad subscription model

    By Ehler4
I bought the app on my Mac before they moved to a subscription model. I can’t sync my data on my service of choice, but I can pay to sync it through their servers. Developers say that a subscription allows them to keep development going, but Day One hasn’t added features they’ve promised since 2.0 was launched years ago like Publish! Save your money and support developers who care, this doesn’t really do anything more than your Notes app anyway.
  • Love this app

I’ve used a lot of diary, journal apps. This is by far the cleanest, best app. Look no farther.
  • Love and tell friends & clients but ....

I am updating my review again due to an issue so this is more a question for the app designers....I still love this app but I have issues since the latest update: 2/23/18 Everything seems to be freezing on both my iPad & phone in this app. Photos that I add can not be enlarged in the composing level. Everything is slow in loading. This was not the case before the current update. Thanks. I am updating my review... 3/18/17 I have a question.... How do you change the order of photos within each entry? That would be very helpful. ORIGINAL REVIEW below..... I love this app. I use it everyday and have for over 2 years. I love being able to add photos and the Label for easy sorting or finding subject matters and have highly recommended it to my friends as well as clients and students. I am having an issue at the moment though... Labels. When I try to add a label or even click on one that is already entered there is a major delay as if the computer, iPad or iPhone is broken or memory is full. This began happening a couple of weeks ago. I see in the latest update that I installed a day or two ago this issue is supposed to be addressed but it has not been! Thank you for this wonderful app.
  • Two different apps?

    By ilovemusic9
Did you create another app and make an old version obsolete? I use the other one and only just found out that I haven't downloaded “Day One,” which was stranger because I already had the app. Sure enough, a second “Day One” app downloaded onto my phone. Is the other app still usable? How can I sync all that data into the new app? Please help.
  • Totally worth it.

I pay the subscription. This app is worth it. Seriously. The organization. The ease. The privacy. The syncing between computer and phone. This has kept me journaling for three years. Thanks for the app. The minor problems are few and far between. Suggestion: add a simple habit tracker into the app?
  • Freezing Up

    By 1928em
While I love that I can now add more photos to an entry among other new features, it has been freezing up after sign in. I haven’t been able to fix it (sign out, close app, restart phone, etc.). All my other apps are still working though just this one. Very disappointed since this is the highest I’ve paid for any app ever😕.
  • Top-of-the-line journal software

    By elDujo
I’ve been using this journal for several for about two years I’m purchasing power I got the app from the App Store on my iPhone probably back as far as 2015 and I can say that now I’m starting to get full advantage of the journal software and I will continue to use it in the future. And I am beginning to use it as intended I will document every moment of my life.
  • Subscription for journaling is total BS!

    By Annieluvski
I open the older version of the Day One app to jot down a cute thing that my kid said... come to find out, the developer did not update the app but instead created a whole new app with a ridiculous subscription! 😡 This makes me feel very frustrated and angry because now I CAN NOT retrieve any of the information that I had logged into Day One!!!!! How frustrating is it that I CAN NOT RETRIEVE any precious memories and quotes from my kids all because the developer wanted to put some money in their pockets for a journal?! Would you pay someone to keep your memories in?! Nope, I don’t think so! SO FREAKING DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
