App Reviews

  • Works well

    By CalifDude
I’ve had good luck with this app and it’s one of the few I’m happy to pay for. When I follow the instructions the app updates automatically in the background without me having to think about it. While not 100% perfect, it blocks most robocalls for me. Any spam calls that slip through can be reported so they’re blocked in the future. And I love that I don’t have to grant access to my contacts or other personal information.
  • Don’t understand the low rating

I’ve been harassed by robocalls from scammers and telemarketers for at least five years, to the point that I could feel my stress level go up every time my phone rang. Stopped answering any call from a number not stored in my contacts (figured they’d leave a voice mail if they were a legitimate caller), set up a silent default ringtone on my phone so those calls don’t even make noise (known callers get a custom ringtone), have a blocked number list longer than my arm... Finally, after a couple days several months back wherein I got multiple calls, I went looking for a better solution and examined different free and paid options before settling on Nomorobo. I’ve had Nomorobo installed for almost a year and it works near perfectly. The calls stopped appearing on my screen immediately and I paid for a full year’s subscription before my trial was even over. That comes to about $1.50/per month, well worth the reduction in stress from being hassled. Yes, scammers spoof numbers to look local to me and Nomorobo can’t block those for technical reasons, but they usually still identify them as robocallers, so it saves me googling the number. Report it to Nomorobo, add to my blocked list, quickly move on. So much better than what I used to have to suffer!
  • Great Potential, Not Effective Enough

I really love that this app respects our privacy- it doesn’t send your data to a server, record information or sell any of your data to services. Kudos to the developers for their honesty. The concern I have with this app is its effectiveness- it seeks to prevent robo calls using the process of elimination- by slowly adding to a data base of bogus numbers. While this seems like a sensible solution- it’s kind of a hit and miss because most robo calls can switch numbers in an instant. I’ve had the app for about 8 hours now, and I just got two consecutive robo calls- the robo caller instantly switched numbers when I declined the first “neighbor spoof” number. The calls were within 30 second of each other. It’s an easy to use app and it has great promise but I’m not sure much can be done for the robocalling issue- unless technology advances and we figure out how to counter the algorithms utilized to make such devious and sneaky robo calls. It’s a shame robo calls even exist- it’s not like people even listen to them- what’s the point of trying to use them to scam people? Most people decline numbers they see as foreign- a petty way for a petty thief. Great promise as a future app- but still needs work. I will continue with the trial :)
  • This app improved my quality of life

I’ve had this app for several months now and I’ve gone from getting 4-6 illegal calls a day to 1-2 a week. It’s not perfect of course. Sometimes it will ring my phone with a number that it has already identified as a robocall. Also support is sorely lacking: the help menu needs to be edited and they never reply to submitted questions. But the app is straightforward enough that you probably won’t need support. Overall though, I’m extremely happy with this service and I’m going to keep it.
  • Misleading story

    By yayaroon
Got the app after seeing it featured on iTunes with 30 day trial. App is actually Only a 14 day trial. Now see the reviews state that a number of calls aren’t even blocked. Disappointment x disappointment = 1 star . Don’t waste your time on this
  • No blocking and failure to update

    By sadrobo
This app failed to block any robocalls and about half the time I got errors when trying to update the db.
  • Thank you!!!!!!

Best robo app out there! Love the community feel to it. worth every penny!
  • Useless if it can’t/won’t block the first-six digit scammers

    By Memyselfandjesus
I thought this app was helping for a while, but I still get multiple calls every day that copy/spoof the area code and first 3 digits of my phone number. Give me a way to block those and then I’ll give you a decent review!
  • Fitsy day, 3 fails out of the gate.

This app has yet to show me that it works on any level whatsoever.
  • Generally Good But Refresh Not Working Consistently

    By irelander
Update 23 May 2018: Something has changed such that I am no longer getting the error dialogue and I no longer have to continually delete and re-download the app. It still seems to be inconsistent on background updates, but it does update when I open the app which is a big improvement. Back up to 3 stars. Update 26 April 2018: I saw that there was a recent update and decided to try Nomorobo again, sadly, with the same results except there’s a new error dialogue. I’ve followed the directions including the troubleshooting directions, but it still randomly fails to update on my iPhone 7 Plus and reporting the issue to support results in the same ‘due to high demand our response time is significantly delayed‘ message. I want it to work, but it doesn’t due to the fact that it stops refreshing and the robocalls start slipping through. I hope it works better for others, however for my experience I reduced it to one star. Previous review: I’ve used Nomorobo for a year and it has been quite effective, but for the past couple of months the app has increasingly not been updating consistently in the background and has required a restart or deletion and reinstallation. When it’s working properly, it is great. I hope the issues get ironed out soon.
