  • A nice little game

I enjoy playing June’s Journey - it is well devoted with great graphics. However, I fear I will no longer be able to play. It is set up that you have to “earn” 44 compasses to open up land. That doesn’t seem much except for the fact I’m finding it hard to come by to accumulate them - in 3 day’s time I have exactly 3, one which I picked up tonight. The one before that was 3 days ago! In two chapters I must accumulate 507 in order to move to the next chapter. With each piece of land you can only fit about 3 items on it, after that even if you could purchase something there is no place to put it. How can you go on in these circumstances? And, why would it be a penalty to put items in storage? I could understand the penalty if you sold an item - but storage! That borders on the ridiculous! So, enjoy it I do, but it’s impossible to continue play under these circumstances.
  • Starts off great but quickly becomes frustrating.

I loved this game when I first started playing it. The hidden objects were fun to find, designing my estate was pure joy and, I immediately became addicted to playing it. However, I quickly discovered that if I wanted to advance through the game at the pace I wanted, I had to spend a ton of real cash on in-app purchases to get the energy, coins, diamonds, and star boxes needed. I don’t mind making in-app purchases on an enjoyable game, but this one has become anything but enjoyable. It has become extremely annoying and frustrating. Now, after spending a considerable amount of real money, I’m stuck and unable to advance until the painfully slow renovations are completed. Even when you purchase decorations, some of them take hours to build. That’s ridiculous! Purchased decorations should place immediately and not make you wait several hours to obtain the flowers needed to progress to the next level. The stingy progression of star completions is also a source of extreme frustration. Receiving seven percent progression on a perfect clearing of a scene is unacceptable. This has happened routinely in the current level that I’m in. Another annoying thing is the fact that the land expansion plots are becoming much smaller, but cost more compasses to obtain. Also, everyone’s estates end up looking like crap because you are forced to place decorations on every square inch to advance to the next level. Having the storage is pointless because you are forced to drag everything out of storage and place it on your estate to advance the game again. That’s IF you even have space available, which you likely won’t because you’ve already been forced to fill it up with crap that just junks up the design you were attempting to create. Sadly, the game has become too frustrating and annoying to hold my attention much longer. It’s a shame because it has the potential to be a great game. I’ll probably play it a bit longer because I’ve already invested so much cash into it. I’m not sure why there are so many unnecessary restrictions built in, oh wait, yes I do. It’s so that you will spend real money to keep playing at your preferred pace. If you play without using real dollars to advance, it will probably take about ten years or so to complete. That may be an exaggeration, but that’s how it feels. Sigh. Oh well, time to search for a different game.
  • Gifting is a joke

“Gifting” is a joke. I gift others and it will say I received a gift back, but it’s nowhere to be found. If I’m spending coins on gifts for others, I would like a return gift. Also, it would just be great to get points of some sort for gifting friends.

Opened this app one day to find it disappeared yup lost it all what a disappointment I will not try to restore after I lost hours and days of playing it. June 845 (June Allan)I am sure you can tell where I was. It was terrible loosing it after all the hours, tons of time spent. I lost all that I did one other time when we went from Sprint to T-Mobile. I recovered that time and I will not do it again.

6/16 - Update #2: Wooga is so intent on providing their canned responses that they miss the salient points: 1) Yes, I understand that we can play for free...but if we do, the game moves at a snail's pace. 2) Massive delays are built into the game....especially with respect to the lighthouse. Several days have already elapsed, and it is still not finished. Five days? Six days? How much longer does this take? When does it end? 3) As players, we may be awarded a 30-minute star-booster... The timing of the booster is such, however, that we cannot actually use it for more than a minute or two. Why? Energy bolts are quickly depleted. By the time the energy has rejuvenated, 30 minutes have elapsed. Essentially, the booster is a "hollow" award. 4) Mastering each scene requires a player to burn through more than 110 energy bolts -- and that is only IF the player watches advertising promos to reduce the quantity from 15 to 10. Otherwise, it is worse! When the energy bolts are gone, the player waits -- AGAIN! Players either need to be content with playing a few minutes at a time over the course of the day -- or move on to another game that is less irritating. Financially, you would probably do a lot better if you charged everybody a small annual fee and then allowed unlimited play. You certainly would not "tick off" as many players! --------- 6/13 (7:24 pm) -- Update. Wooga just wanted to know if I enjoy playing... Can they NOT read my review? The portion of the game where we find hidden objects is fun. Everything else is SLOW - FRUSTRATING - and IRRITATING. The game is designed to trigger numerous in-app purchases -- EXPENSIVE!!! Energy bolts are quickly depleted. If you are unwilling -- or unable -- to make the in-app purchases, then you are stuck with LONG periods before you can play again. SLOW, FRUSTRATING and IRRITATING! Cannot advance without decorating. Cannot decorate without purchases and/or expansion. Viscous circle! Additionally, there are numerous, DELAYS built into the game. You are also relegated to continuing to play chapters you've already "mastered" in order to amass sufficient coins to purchase more stuff that you don't want so that you can advance to the next chapter. Items are misidentified. In Waterfall (scene 28), you are instructed to find "bullets", yet the items shown are shotgun shells. Inconsistency of labeling is another issue. In one scene, a pipe is something a person smokes. In another scene, a pipe is an element in a building's structure. One would expect proper grammar from professional game-makers. The game commences with a glaring error: "--had raised Claire and I". The statement should have been phrased as "Claire and me". Players receive a 30-minute star booster -- but only when there are insufficient energy bolts to play. THANKS FOR NOTHING! The only entertaining aspect of this game is finding hidden objects. Otherwise, the game is wrought with irritation and frustration. I am ready to DUMP this app!

June’s journey was fun for a while until I realized that the whole game was just about making money. You can play it two waze-Either know you’re going to spend a lot of money upfront and buy everything that you need (energy )at a ridiculous price and then play the game or skip it. Originally,it was interesting, now I just don’t wanna spend anymore money and I don’t even care how the couple were murdered. Also, every time you think you’re getting another clue, and are about to finish the game, they asked for more money and Add a new section

Wonderful game, love it! Great story line, visual effects are awesome. But it is getting very expensive to progress and right now watching the ads to either upgrade the lighthouse or decrease energy use per search are driving me crazy!!! At least every 5th time the screen freezes in black or gray and I have to go out of the game and wait sometimes 20 or 30 minutes until it resets. This has cost me money as often it burns through search minutes. Jackie Augustus
