App Reviews

  • Terrible

    By Trump Wannabe
Awful navigation and continuity. Example: watched two episodes of a program, only to be denied access to any additional ones. Only the first episode is available. Stared at grey, blank screen upon attempting to contact customer support. Great programming but what’s the point when some aren’t available.
  • Ok app, but B level shows

    By Hezmana
The app worked ok for me, but the content for the most part, with some exceptions was shows that were not up to the level of programming I expect from BBC and ITV.
  • Content improving but...

    By Crochetowl
Content has improved greatly and I usually find something to watch on regular/daily basis (watching the soaps the same day they aired is wonderful). Suggested improvements (most if not all are already found in other streaming apps): -Now watching is horrible. Half the time it works half the time I have to restart the show and find where I stopped previously. -it is too easy to delete a watchlist show. A confirm removal would be wonderful. -During viewing, being able to advance/go backward 10-15 seconds would be great -A tag showing I watched a show/episode would be great So in summary, content is great but it’s time for a revamp of the interface to make it far better.
  • Terrible App, Good Content

I really want to love this service. I’ve waited for something like it for years. But the app just does not work. It is poorly designed and it crashes often. At some point, in every show I watch, the app crashes. Worse still, when I relaunch the app, it doesn’t remember what I was watching. When I find the show and episode, it doesn’t remember where I left off. I have to scan the episode until I find my place and cross my fingers that it doesn’t happen again. Unfortunately, it often happens several times in a row. If this isn’t resolved soon, I may have to cancel. It’s a shame, because, from looking at other reviews, this seems to be a persistent problem, and resolution seems unlikely. Even without the crashes, the app would be a soft 3 stars, for other UI problems, but crashes for a paid service are not acceptable.

It works well on Amazon’s Fire Stick.

Won't open when dose won't play
  • Excellent movies. Lousy iPad app. Crashes all the time.

    By EveryonesaCritic2
This is unbelievable. They have the best movies, TV shows, but the worst software. When you watch from iPad’s chrome or safari, the movie keeps repeating itself, replays a segment over and over. When you watch it from the iPad app, it keeps crashing. Why can’t they hire a few competent programmers? Why can’t they even play a movie from beginning to end without messing up? It’s not like UK is short of smart people.

  • App keeps crashing please fix

Love the shows, I’m a paid subscriber but the app itself continually crashes just as I am getting into a show. Please fix ASAP!!!
  • I’m really enjoying it

Here are a few things that bother me a little. The UI is haphazard and confusing. I now my way around but I want a simpler way to get there. Netflix and Hulu have more of a British selection, especially Hulu. Though, there are a lot of shows on BritBox that are not on Hulu. BritBox is cheaper that Netflix and Hulu (about a dollar less) but again, not that many series. Yet. I do notice that I see new series being added ever so often, which I like. This gives me a chance to discover new shows and rewatch shows I’ve seen before. I don’t live in Britain but I do love British tv shows. I’ve tried to access British tv channels but because I am in the USA, I am blocked. This app is as close as I will ever get to watching BBC channels. I am looking forward to more shows. Almost forgot! When I am watching a show and I am about 45 minuets into it, it will crash. I’ll try and pick up from the scene I was watching and it will crash right as that scene. So if I am at 45 min and 25 sec into the show, it will crash. If I go back to 45:25 it will right at 45:25. Very annoying. I do hope you will these issues and add more stuff. Again, I appreciate the app.
