  • eBay pads listings, repeats items

When I’m browsing a search results list, I am seeing many repeated items. Some items are shown 4-5 times, and I frequently see the repeats occurring immediately (same listings twice, back to back in the results list) or in close proximity to one another. Tells me that eBay either is trying to hide declining listing volume or they are really losing touch with buyers. My guess is that someone in the app team thought it would be clever. Maybe hoping that buyers would see the item again and jump at it. My experience? I end up wasting time checking what looks like another of what I am looking for. I end up angry at eBay for wasting my time, so I shop less rather than more. Or i give up and buy from Amazon. Yes, it really happens that frequently. Indeed if I look at a listed item I can almost guarantee it will be repeated multiple times. Wrong approach eBay. Think about how buyers work these search results: we either discard an item, put it on our watch list, or bid. Mostly it’s the first two, and bids get placed from the watch list after examining competing offerings. Who wants to buy only to find a better price a few listings down? Continually pushing repeats is annoying and stupid. Pushing harder on items we’ve already watched or rejected is infuriating.

  • NOT an improvement at all!!

Absolutely HATE this upgrade. My son got it on his iPad months ago and it was so bad that I deliberately ignored the constant notices to upgrade until it was disabled a few days ago and I had to deal with it. I’m sure I was not the only one who put off getting the new (not improved )version. I have to give one star, I would like to do zero. I have no idea why the old app wasn’t good enough! What is with the minimal, almost industrial graphics on this version? It looks like a novice built it. This one is not an improvement, it really was a step backwards. First thing : it’s way too difficult to bid quickly. Why? An annoying error message (several different kinds of errors do this) is always flashing every few seconds. It ends up freezing the screen until you acknowledge it, and make it go away. It does this on every screen you are on, whether you are buying, watching, answering messages, purchases! -The sold items list is confusing because you just see a number. You have to click on the number of items sold to have the individual items populate. It was better when you had all the information at a glance in grid style. -It is way more complicated to look at saved searches; before you just could back arrow to your list but now you have to sort the list by three different categories. Once you look at a category it drops it to the end of the list and you don’t see it anymore. You have to tell it to show your list in alphabetical order-and if you don’t figure this out, you might miss what you’re searching for. Also, you used to be able to just use the back arrow to get back to the list and go to the next thing you were looking for, in your saved searches. Now you have to back arrow, cancel the search, and then back arrow AGAIN to get back to the list. Annoying! Bottom line is: You have to work with a lot of extra steps and the error msgs keep interrupting when you are trying to bid. That is not cool: Seconds count when bidding!! I hope the eBay sales drop enough so the designers fix this app. It interferes and makes the entire process too slow with the interruptions and redesign with added extra steps in every little thingy you try to do.

It’s ok people like to bid cheaply. They wait until the last day of the bid to get the item as cheap as possible. If they don’t like than they make an excuse to get money back. Like its your fault. But other then that Ebay can be a good place to sell (or give away items you no longer need)
