  • Not what I wanted

This app is not what I wanted! I deleted it as soon as I realized it wasn’t the right app and when I try to get a refund it won’t give me one.
  • Latest Upgrade has Made iNavx USELESS

    By cvj9325
As a long time user of iNavX, I am now finding the that the app has become totally useless, for the same reasons stated in the post by David Jade above. The developers are seemingly bent on destroying this previously excellent app... There is no longer a way to easily update the charts; the "Adhoc" WiFi connection to Coastal Explorer on a PC is broken etc. etc.
  • Overall Pretty Reliable

    By TxnMariner
I will never buy another marine navigation app. iNavX has proven to be just as accurate as any instruments we have in the wheel house while offshore so I would recommend it to anyone who works offshore. My only complaint is you cannot rotate the charts using your iPhone. The charts only rotate using the iPad. Add that one feature to the iPhone and it easily gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Updated Review - Still 4 Stars but adding AIS Live to the mix for the ridiculous cost of $99.00/year is a bit much. Sure “MarineTraffic” has a bit of a delay, but it’s free - for essentially the same thing. Mariners should have a more affordable option after spending actual money on iNavX.
  • Good chart reference

I use it primarily to view charts, and for me it was worth the price. It’s pretty complicated trying to do much else, especially when on watch. I need to keep my eyes out the window, not trying to use an app.
  • I love iNavx

    By Breezotoo
Great system. It's my go-to system. When I'm sailing it's on. Gives me most of what I need in an instant. Can be a bit frustrating setting up Waypoints and Routes, figuring out if you have saved or not! Hopefully more updates are added over time.
  • Charte Expire and no longer accessible

    By Schooner Joe
Fair warning to all of you going for months without interent service. If your ipad has to update the app or the OS, all charts without a current subscription will be deleted. Furthermore, if the charts are not currently subscribed to, they will be unavailable though still occupying memory. You are not buying a chart. You are buying ACCESS to a chart for 12months! One of those things I learned the hard way. Wasnt allways like this. I usually updated charts when i had the time and good bandwidth. Traverse changed things a few years ago and it has gone downhill. I've used this app for close to ten years, literally, around the world. And it works well. It is clunky and inefficient espacially for route planning and configuration at times, but it works.I have a dedicated ipad just for navigation. I do not update the OS nor the app just so I dont lose the charts and still, they dont work after expiration. I'm looking for a new alternative.
  • Charts are not linked

    By Sailor stan
I find that having to load and switch back and forth from chart to chart is not seemless enough. I used "Charts" app on the iPhone 5 but had to go with a new app with the iPhone 7 IOS 11. I recently went to the Bahamas and there were no NOA Charts of any detailed scale. I'll continue to try this out for around the chesapeake bay as it looks like it will work OK for that even thought I have to constantaly change charts manually from one scale to the next.
  • Why spend thousands on navigation

    By cruising Bobbi
Why would you spend $5,000 or $10,000 on navigation? This app is great. I have successfully used the app for many years navigating the waters from New York to Texas.
  • Ridiculously confusing layout.

    By Idiots idiot
The charting etc is great. But obtaining the Charts is ridiculously confusing. I have to BUY a chart in order to THEN create an X TRAVERSE ACCOUNT??!? No? Well then maybe tell me why because I see no other way. Also, there IS a MIDDLE of America, and not just USA EAST and USA WEST?? Where are the Upper Mississippi River charts? The instructions are written without prepositions at times, and are told as if you have an outstanding idea of how the Step being describe already works. Does anybody read these back to a buddy or proofread?? I get the glowing reviews, and kudos to you guys who have the benefit of navigating the Coasts, or Bermuda, or the Inlets of Sauagnawaki... I’m not complaining about the capabilities or its usefullness.. it’s getting to that usefulness that’s important.
  • It USED to work...

    By webbwebs
There was a time that this was, hands down, the best app available for iOS. The originator, Richard Ray, worked pretty much non-stop on the app to make sure it was the beat it could be. Sure, there might be an occasional glitch. But it ALWAYS ran and did the job. Today, I can’t even get it to load, without crashing. I even bought a new 256GB iPhone 8, thinking it might help. And it did for a couple of days... until the next “upgrade”. Now I’m back to the same old thing... crash, Crash, CRASH!!!
