  • Calorie count fantasy

Just went thru install etc. First entry in diary told me a serving of almond butter was 6 calories and coffee with half and half was zero. If I used this app I would gain weight!

I was always resistant to tracking my daily calorie intake. I absolutely love this food tracker! I find it really easy and user friendly. I’m hoping to keep it up until my lifestyle change is permanent. I highly recommend!!

I downloaded the app, bought the $21 for 3 month subscription. It then took my money & IMMEDIATELY kicked me out of the app. When I went back in I had to reply in twice because the first time it said my email was already registered. Then once I was logged in I tried to click on the plan that I just bought, then a page popped up saying I needed to buy it to get access.
  • Not what I Paid For

I bought the premium hoping for a multitude of recipes to swap in and out of meal plans and many options for various food preferences, this is not the case. There are very limited food plans and not a lot of offered recipes. Also it is very difficult to receive a refund if you are unsatisfied. I tried to cancel about 10 min after i purchases after I realized it did not include what was promised, and was directed to Apple Support who will not refund (Lifesum hides behind the fact that they do not directly handle the payment platform). I have tried to use it anyways since I’m paying for 6 months (whether I like it or not) and now the app keeps crashing randomly when I try to view the plan section. Disappointing, not worth it for premium, might be useful if you stick to free but my fitness pal is just as good with a larger database.

I definitely love this app, I paid for the one year subscription and I’ve been on my diet for about a week or two and I’m already thankful for this app. I feel like it’s going to help me achieve my goal.
  • Was better before...

I used to recommend this app to my clients all the time and I would use it a lot too, and now you have to go to Premium to do a lot of the features you could do before. You used to be able to adjust your macros and now you have to pay. I won’t be able to use this anymore since mine are changing. Otherwise it’s a nice looking and easy app to use.

I do like the app. Been using it for several months... My problem is when it tells you to take a pic of your food, it's almost always wrong and they only give you a few options of what they think it is. You can't take a pic and say what it is. So I end up putting each ingredient in one by one and it gets a little annoying. I like the day ratings and the little advice they give. Overall it's a good app!

I liked it so much that I paid for the enhanced version. Adding your food is super easy! I just wish there was a way to set up your own macros. I know the ones in there working really well, but I’m trying to play around with mine and wanted to enter them manually, but can’t. Do you know if that’s a future feature you plan on adding like a “customize your own”?

My only problem with the app is the recipes, they are slightly odd. Example: pickle egg and three sauces, spiced Savoy cabbage with sultanas and walnuts. I am looking for a meal prep app and this is not it. I do give it three stars because you can scan and log your own stuff. Just don’t like the recipes it gives you.
  • Easy, informative

I’m usually not good at maintaining any diary, but Lifesum makes it easy. I haven’t used the camera successfully yet, but I have found comparable foods in the app. I like that the app incorporates information from my Apple Watch; less info for me to enter. Having actual metrics available at any time is enlightening. It’s easy to think I’m doing well with my diet, but Lifesum provides me with real data. It also gives little tidbits and supportive comments throughout the day for encouragement and education. Glad I got it.
