  • Continually Buggy and Annoying

    By TBC.III
Good content, perpetually lousy app. Either won't load or won't work correctly or smoothly when it does load. Slate, you need to fire this app developer and start over, from scratch! I'm deleting till you do.

Would give a zero if possible
  • bug fix needed!

    By lanemeyer
I love Slate but a bug fix is meddef. On my iPhone X if i scroll down to read a story in the app (Slate Plus if that matters) then scroll back up to the top to exit, about half of the time the picture accompanying the app gets selected and is almost impossible to x out of. (I have to exit the app then exit the whole window.). Also at times the exit arrow on the left hovers an inch down from the top of the page as opposed to at the top, in this case it doesn’t work at all and i have to exit then close the app again. My app has the most current update. Thanks!
  • Terrible Navigation. Barely Funtional

    By sallenmd87
Terribly frustrating to use. Extremely difficult to navigate. Many buttons don’t work. Clicking X should should close full-screen pictures but doesn’t. Gray bands that obstruct view cannot be closed. Awful.
  • Terrible on iPhone X

None of the controls (back, close) work. So you’re stuck on the article you’re reading, unless you kill the app and reopen. Who’s doing QA for app development?
  • I would give zero if I could as the app doesn’t function

    By Twinpod
slate should be embarrassed. It’s an online news/current events magazine with no functioning app. I am a slate plus member and when I became a member I could use the site. I’ve had no app for almost a year and have received no help from Slate. I won’t be renewing. Every page is a black screen.
  • Can’t use this app anymore

    By Solroureview
I have been reading Slate since 2000. I have always enjoyed the content. However the user experience of this new app is awful. I’ve experienced broken icons to where I have to restart the app to return to the main page; an endlessly restarting video ad, even after allowing the ad to run in full; disappearing stories as I scroll down the Recent list. For me, the video ad is the worst of the problems—once it starts, it pops up constantly, as in every 2-10 seconds. If you try to close it to return to the story you were reading, it often immediately pops up again.
  • Fix all the bugs!

Great content but absolutely unusable app. You should fire people who created/maintain your IOS apps.
  • Bad ads

    By momofdragons
Great content, horrible intrusive ads that open themselves
  • Ads are too distracting

Can’t even read a paragraph without a video ad for a cruise popping up.
