  • Where have you been all my life?!

    By BeerSnobbery
This app is everything I ever wanted not only for note taking—which I do a ton of—but as a word processor as well. If you wish a note taking or word processor did something, Notability likely already does it. The description of this app is far too sparse. I tried several other apps and kept going back to Apple Notes. Within an hour of trying out Notability, I archived Apple Notes to the attic of my drive organization, very likely to never be used again. Writing with the Apple Pencil is so much clearer and cleaner than Apple Notes, and you can do far more with what you’ve written, including convert my bad handwriting to text. At $10, it’s a steal. One thing I wish it did have, that no notes program does, is an ink brush option for writing in Japanese and Chinese. In Japanese we call it a ‘fudde pen’ which is a pen that writes like a brush but is actually more like a marker. If the developers are reading this, please add the brush pen option. Check out an app called ‘Zen Brush 2 for example.
  • If I could give this app a 0 I would.

NOT worth the hype or 10$ you pay. The app does not sync well with iCloud, deleting all off my notes once with no recovery. It also crashes frequently. When I tried contacting gingerlabs multiple times, I was ghosted and did not received technical support.
  • Amazing tool and perfect for new iPad!

    By Stormin214
I have tried for a very long time to find a note-taking tool that was quick and easy to use, flexible with importing agendas and other meeting artifacts, etc. After trying (and buying) several other note apps, I finally found one that does literally everything I need. Notability is a perfect solution in using all of the flexibility and features on my new version iPad Pro. I can’t say enough good things about this application. Among the other note-taking apps I have used (which I will leave unnamed as I don’t prefer to be demeaning to others), I can assure you that none of them offer the cohesive and complete list of features as Notability. Thank you, GingerLabs, for this incredible solution!
  • One of the best, could be better

    By Flurr Ball
I use notability for taking notes and recording lectures. Use it every day and I like it but I have some issues: 1. Playback doesn’t play well with Bluetooth headphones (major brands and/or OEM if it matters). Pausing via the headphones should pause the playback in Notability but instead it starts whatever audio was playing last in some other app (music normally). Since I usually have the volume turned up for playing back lectures, this can be pretty startling. It plays whatever (music, e.g) at full blast on top of the lecture audio. Every pair, brand, OEM, etc pair of headphones does this in Notability but in no other similar app. I submitted this to support and received nothing more than a canned response, if that. **This is a bug not a missing feature. 2. I like the ability to have side by side notes open, however when I experimented with recording audio while having two notes open I found that it was way too easy to accidentally stop the recording. This may be my error but it happened more than a few times so it could be more user-friendly, whatever the cause. 3. This is minor, but I wish the line between each page were a bit more obvious so I could try to avoid writing on it. If I print my notes or convert to PDF this would help avoid having writing and drawings cut off at the bottom of the pages. I’m not sure why that line has to be so faint. I want to see it.
  • Only one thing I would fix

    By Runnergirl329
The highlighter function is not bright at all. I wish they would be “jump off the page” bright so that I could better see highlighted things in my notes. In order to get it brighter right now, you have to highlight the same thing multiple times and then it gets really hard to see the writing underneath.
  • Cannot add anymore dividers or subjects

    By HonestReviewer90
With the latest update, every time I try to add a divider, it stays empty and can't add a subject to it. The new subject can only be added to an old divider. Please fix your updates, it was better before! Now it's a waste of money.
  • Love this note taking app!

    By Shell8779
This is perfect for taking notes in my graduate program, and at work.
  • The best note app if you can add research function

    By 郭昊坤
I advise you to add a “research”function. it can help user to translate or search information in this app quickly and synchronously. If this apps can do this, it will be the only note app in my device!!!!
  • Amazing app: suggestion

    By Superoriginalnickname
Amazing app! It’s continuously updated too for better functionality and quality of life. One suggestion for a feature would be an in-app calculator. That would definitely help people when hey undertake math problems using this app.
  • I love this app except..

    By Jueunee
Just one minor minor issue I wish the developers would fix is when you use highlighters over the writing, it seems to veil the writing, making it look cloudy. (I am not sure if I am making any sense..) For example, GoodNotes automatically puts highlight layer under the writing making it clearer. If that can be fixed, I would be most satisfied with this app. It’s nothing but it bugs me every time I use the highlighter.
