Radar Pro App Description

Radar Pro is an interactive Weather Radar application for anyone with a need for graphical weather updates on the go. It allows you to view the most up-to-date weather radar data - direct from the United States National Weather Service NEXRAD Level 3 Radar Network. Coverage includes the entire 50 states and Puerto Rico. What sets Radar Pro apart from other weather radar apps is that Radar Pro receives radar data directly from the National Weather Service operational servers. The images are in their true, original format and not a smoothed graphic - smoothing any data reduces its accuracy. This means the radar data is the most accurate view of precipitation freely available to the public. All Severe Weather Warnings for Tornado (Red), Severe Thunderstorm (Yellow), Flash Flood (Green), and Special Marine (Orange) issued by the National Weather Service are displayed on the map and the warning's details can be easily viewed from the Warnings button. Set the Radar In Motion -- easily begin an animation loop to view storm motion over the past several minutes. Know exactly where a storm is and where it's going and how it could impact you -- set the radar image in motion and easily begin an animation loop to view storm motion over the past several minutes; and with one touch, your current location is marked on the map so you'll always know where you are in relation to precipitation or severe weather warnings. Radar data and Severe Warnings can be configured to update at 2, 5, 10, or 15 minute intervals. Radar Features: ● Level 3 NEXRAD display to 248 nautical miles ● Animation ● User Configurable Data Updates Rates ● Favorite Radar List ● Radar Site Status Information ● Complete US coverage including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico ● 154 Radar Sites ● Severe Weather Warnings Map Display and Statement Text ● Tornado ● Thunderstorm ● Flash Flood ● Special Marine Map Features: ● Auto radar selection ● One-touch radar selection ● Pinch to Zoom In and Out ● Swipe to Pan ● Complete US/Canada/Mexico outline ● Cities and Towns ● State Boundaries ● County Boundaries ● Major Highways ● Radar Selection via Map There many new features planned for future releases.

Working in the weather industry, I use to be a big fan of this app. However over the last several days when doing a loop on the reflectivity, it loops random images from the past, usually 14 hours in the past and then jumps to the latest image. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but no change. I wouldn't be complaining except for the fact that when I went to their website, it took me to a web developer page. Not sure if this app is still supported, big disappointment!

Used this for work every day for the last 2 years until about 2 weeks ago when the radar in motion quit working properly. Sent 2 emails to tech support with NO response.

Great app, could use some tweaks like, useing an ipad it would be great if it could be used in landscape mode. Lately the animation mode has been choppy, missing frames. Looking for another radar app...will uninstall soon if not fixed...

I was looking for a radar app to prepare for Florida storms. For $4.99, this app is worth about $.50. If you are looking for a good app, keep looking. I would not recommend this one.
  • Slow Updates

I find the radar updates to be to slow or infrequent to be of much use. Often precip arrives long before the radar notes the location. This app would be much improved if radar sweeps were updated every two minutes at a minimum. Would not recommend this app.

One of the best radar apps that I've used. The features I like that storm warnings are highlighted on the map. One other thing that would great if they show storm watch area. Other than that great app.

RadarScope is similar and better in my opinion. This app is fine and does the job, just not quite as good.
  • What a waste

I had to give it one star. This app is AWFUL. I've seen better graphics from a two year old. Do not waste your money. I wish I could get mine back.
