Updated review Since the last update I noticed that I’m not able to manually delete review items and they arent working anymore when offline. I also had problems opening lessons that were previously downloaded without an internet connection. Im a flight attendant and I always study when im flying with my phone in airplane mode. Any plans on fixing that in the next update or should I just get used to it? :( —————————————————— I’m learning Italian with Babbel and I love the app so much! Tried many other language learning apps and programs before including Rosetta Stone and Babbel is by far my favorite. I always missed grammar and spelling on other softwares but this one covers it all! I’ve had it for about 4 months, I believe, and I’m learning a lot! Will definitely be using this for more languages in the future and I always recommend the app to all my friends that are interested in learning a language.

I'm trying to learn Italian, i saw the rating of this app was 4.5 stars and read the wonderful reviews everyone posted about this app... i completed the first course and was really loving it, but after the first course it doesn't let you continue to learn unless you pay a subscription of 12-13 dollars a month. Pretty disappointed.

Speech recognition fails before I even say a word. No faq discusses the problem. I pay for a monthly subscription. Very disappointing.
  • Simply amazing!

  • Errors in the program

I like it in general though it doesn’t substitute for actual classes, but in the Kindle version there are errore in the program. In the imperative refresher section there is a page missing and questions re verb endings that don’t indicate what number or formal v. Informal. Is ther a way to get a corrected version?
  • Very basic to start

I have found voice recognition to be less than optimal. I have been saying”si” for many years, and find it incredible that I am counted as being incorrect four or five times before the app approves. Also the roll through is often slow and balky. Content so far is good; repetitive and redundant, which is somewhat annoying, but ultimately will help with retention. I speak fair Italian, far from fluidly or fluently, but use this app for practice. The thing with “si” was maddening.
  • Self correct

Wish there was a button that would allow one more attempt to self correct instead of seeing that answer was counted incorrect for a typo.
  • FUN and USEFUL

I began my Italian lessons during last week when we were off work due to flu and a broken toe. Bored and frustrated, I decided to check it out. Well, it’s hard to wipe the smile off my face. It’s SO entertaining, it’s so much fun, it’s something I can start and stop at any point at any hour, and it’s very stimulating to my brain. I’m extremely happy with this product. I have tried another product some years back but it didn’t teach me verbs the way this one does, and it was not nearly as visually appealing. This is a really great product, very inexpensive, and I plan to continue. Enjoy. Ciao!

I purchased Babbel to learn Italian and I was honestly so delighted with how much I learned in so little time. You get to hear, read, and write translations which makes it so easy to remember the words you have learned, no matter what learning style works best for you. The review section is also great for when I need refreshers on phrases from previous lessons. Overall, it’s super easy to get started and there are different things ways you can review to make sure it sticks!
