  • If only all apps were like this one…

This is one of the first apps I ever got when I got my first iPhone. The best way to put it is to say I was early on smitten with an unassailable, or at least treatment-resistant naivety about apps in general. It caused me to think that apps do what they say they will do and no more. An appropriate amount of cynicism has had to be rebuilt over time, brick by brick. I absolutely love this app-even for a person only moderate interest in astronomy, it is so well worth your time and money if you make any of the in app purchases. It has been so long, I don’t even remember what I got but after having it for only a day or two if it offered an ad free version for $.99 or something, I’m sure I did that. One unexpectedly cool thing about this particular app that makes it a great social tool or icebreaker: I can be standing in line outside waiting for a table, or to get into a movie, and have this app out, and pointed at the sky, and just say something like “have you ever seen this app?“. I don’t care who they are what they are, I don’t care if it’s a five-year-old kid or a 90-year-old grandpa , they can’t keep from looking, and as soon as they turn and look at your screen, I say “see, it moves when I move, and it shows you what you’re looking at… See? Like here’s the moon, and there is Jupiter…”… The reaction from that point on is always so entertaining… I’ve gotten everything from a youngster just taking the phone from me and circling around seeing what was there, to just standard “Wow, what is that?”, to “… That’s amazing, my father-in-law would absolutely love that, what’s the name of it? as they start poking at their own phone… How much was it?”. Using it is so intuitive, it’s barely worth mentioning… It’s like using your eyes… You just look, and it tells you what you’re looking at, and the more you center it in the screen, The more detailed information you get. If you turn to the south for example, it just turns with you; if you look straight up it looks straight up.. It even gives real time information like showing me where that comet is and where it is going. The graphics are beautiful, the images associated with the constellations are absolutely elegant, … It even plays soothing New Age style cords for you to listen to while you look… LOL… Have I said enough? Just get it, you won’t regret it and you will become instantly cool.LOL.

    I love this app!!
  • Amazing!!!

This app has surely been a pleasure to have, for it has features that are truly amazing, from the name of a star to the name of constellations, from the information of the Sun to information of far away celestial bodies. This app has made everyday star gazing a simple task; there are barely any flaws within the application. Please update regularly, so that the app can be so much better: I can’t find any common flaw, therefore I can’t help with making the app more satisfying. Thank you!

Great app it shows you the sky
  • Doesn’t Work and Scammy Subscription

    By WTF_WWF_sucks_ass
After paying for the APP, when first run on iPhone and without any action on my part, it immediately and automatically prompted me to pay for the SUBSCRIPTION by double clicking the side button to pay. This is shady practice. After being underwhelmed by the iPhone version which didn’t properly locate my position, I tried it on the iPad where it didn’t properly locate my position and didn’t rotate the sky at all, regardless of toggling the compass on or off. Waste of money.

  • I effing love this app!

I’ve owned this app for many years now and I have to say, this app has been absolutely instrumental in my perceptual “awakening” of this vast universe we live in. To even begin contemplating it’s size and magnificence is both mesmerizing and mind-numbing. I use many popular astronomy apps but this one gets the most use for its informational presentation and easy-to-approach UI. I continue to pay for the annual Supermassive subscription because the detail and depth is so stunning and in my opinion, completely worth it. Everyone I show it to - it takes their breath away. I know some don’t like background music in their apps but you’ll find a great non-repetitive background soundtrack in this app, if you’re into that sort of thing (I definitely am). My only wish is that they would “redden” the keyboard during a search with Night Vision enabled, and if they could audibly speak the information that they’ve curated into this app regarding all the objects we can see in our universe, because it’s nice to observe the object as you’re learning about it. Otherwise, this app is superb. Great job to the developers of Sky Guide!

I have paid for the app before, and now I switched to a new phone with the same account it says I have to pay monthly membership fee after the trial, and when I press restore purchase It fails and nothing comes up. Please give me what I paid for and I will give 5 stars.
