MileIQ: Mileage Tracker & Log App Description

MileIQ automatically tracks and records your mileage in the background as you drive your car for business. MileIQ users save an average of $7,300 per year. Tracking your miles for tax deduction purposes? MileIQ is the easiest most accurate way to create logs that follow IRS mileage standards. Easy to Use. Loaded with Features. Two of the biggest mistakes manual paper log keepers make is not maintaining a contemporaneous mileage log and mixing their business miles with personal miles. Inaccurate record keeping can result in rejected mileage deduction claims and IRS penalties. Automatic Mileage Detection MileIQ creates an accurate, contemporaneous record of the miles you drive for work. Automatic drive detection means no stopping and starting the app. No need for manual paper logs.  Accurate Mileage Tracking Features like Name Your Location and One Swipe Classification give your tax-deductible mileage records the accurate details they need to pass IRS scrutiny. A Custom Fit No matter whether you're tracking miles for reimbursements or tax deductions, MileIQ gives you the tools and flexibility to create mileage record details that reflect the miles you drive. • Personalize each drive with vehicle names, job numbers or any designation that fits your business • Use bulk editing to give groups of drives a single purpose • Use Frequent Drives to auto-classify the drives you make most often • Add drives, delete drives, duplicate drives, and more Making Your Business Mileage Count The 2018 standard IRS mileage rate of 54.5 cents per mile driven for business, 14 cents for charity and 18 cents for medical mileage. MileIQ calculates your largest mileage tax deduction. For example, let’s say you drive 1,000 or 10,000 miles for business using the standard mileage rate of 54.5 cents you’d be entitled to a mileage deduction of $545 or $5,450. Detailed Records of Every Drive A mileage log is only as good as the reports it generates. Stored securely in the cloud, MileIQ sends weekly mileage reports directly to your inbox. Need more specificity, use the web dashboard to generate custom reports.  • 20.9 billion miles logged with MileIQ • 60 million hours saved from manual logging • $2.5 billion in mileage deductions and reimbursements Join Millions of Drivers Who’ve Saved Billions of Dollars using MileIQ Try MileIQ for free. To achieve this minimal battery usage, MileIQ uses smartly constructed formulas to detect drives rather than only using GPS (which requires more power) for location data. • Love Mile IQ

Love mile IQ! So easy to use. One small suggestion, revamp the reports to consolidate information to use less paper. Small basic reports can use 10 pages or more with lots of blank space.
  • Perfect for my Purposes.

This app is a bit on the sensitive side, but it’s perfect for what I need it for.
  • Too Sensitive on Stops

    By Scubagirl131
I drive daily for work, and the app is too sensitive. If I am at a stop sign or ref light for too long, it stops tracking my drive. I have to then categorize each and every segment of just one drive, it’s becoming very annoying. I would prefer to do roundtrips versus categorize ten different legs for just 1 trip! Need to fix soon or I will use a different app.
  • Easy to use

MileIQ is super easy to use. The ability to classify recurring drives saves a ton of time. Would be a slam dunk if it showed addresses or business names nearby so you could select that particular location and auto classify drives (e.g Shell Gas Station = errands). Solid product at low cost and easy to use.
  • Overall Great, but One Major Concern

    By hdkr fidhshxyrnfkc
This app is a brilliant idea, and it’s certainly going to make thing easier come tax season. My biggest frustration is: I drive Lyft and live in a rural area, so I drive around 20 miles into town to start getting more rides. I’ll often get my first ride while I’m moving, and when I pick them up, I’m only stopped for about two minutes, so MileIQ doesn’t register the stop. I can’t claim the miles going into town or out of town (the IRS considers these a “commute”), but when I get home, I have one big, long drive to classify because I never stopped moving long enough. It’d be really nice to be able to go into each drive and manually break them into smaller ones when necessary. As it stands, I’m left trying to subtract about 40 miles from each day of my report by hand before calculating my taxes, which kind of defeats the purpose of the app.
  • Battery hog. Had to uninstall

    By Scott_in_MS
I paid $60 for a year subscription. I liked the features and functionality. But, it ran my phone battery down in half a day. Had to uninstall. Wasted $60
  • Freelancer Must Have

I enjoy the interface way more than quick books self employed app I was using previously. Also love that you can chat with customer service directly from the app with a super quick response. Mike IQ is going to help me stay organized when tax time comes around. Priceless!
  • Awesome App! Tracks my Uber/Lyft Rides

I use this to track my mileage when I drive for Uber or Lyft. It only tracks 40 rides per month for Free. If you want unlimited tracking they have a monthly and annual fees. You’ll save about $12 if you do the Annual Subscription and it’s $59.99 or $5.99 per month. Overall it’s a great app and will save you from a possible audit from the IRS. When you drive as much as I do. However, I wish that they had a special rate for Drivers who do Ride share for UBER and LYFT. In the end it’s a valuable tool to have to keep track of your mileages and usage. I’m wondering if there is a way to or was it still logging my drives after the monthly 40 Drive Limit... I hope so, if not then I’ll have to record the drives manually. (Sigh) not looking forward to doing that!! 🤔🤔🤔🥴🤢🤮🤯🤯🤯
  • So easy to track my miles

    By Kathi721
I drive for Lyft and I got tired of tracking mileage manually. It’s nice to have it done automatically for me.
  • Handy but Could Use Improvement

    By Mermeum
I like how you can have it automatically classify your frequent drives. That saves me a lot of time. I do wish that it would show me an address or at least allow me to zoom in on the map to help me figure out the location of a drive. Sometimes there just isn't enough information.
