  • App puts everything you need in one place.

    By elbeebetter
Every aspect of weight loss in one place. Excercise: syncs to your phone. Calorie counting: log your meals and snacks and looks up MANY national and some regional restaurants. Weight loss: charts the weight you enter. Recipes: even has recipes and the ability to add your own. Chat: sets up chat groups to communicate within the app also.
  • Just want a few more features.

The program itself is pretty fantastic. I'm down 25 pounds in eight weeks. Regarding the actual app I wish that there was more data analysis options. I'd like to see a better analysis of the daily food intake colors quantified at a day, week, month, and to date level where someone can compare their progress. It's currently very cumbersome to try to see how you've done and if you've made progress or not. A chart for step progression like the weight graph would be a nice visual to have as well. Incorporate things like that as well as a color suggestion for added recipes and it would be a five star app.
  • No technical support

I have been emailing since before Thanksgiving to try and get myself a new goal specialist, and I have even dragged my group coach in to try and get a hold of the people at Noom to help me. I have yet to receive any email back or any response from them. Clearly they must be having some trouble over there to not have responded in anyway. I feel really disappointed.
  • Expensive, but SO worth it.

    By aimeemg
It’s a lot $$ up front, but WORTH it—I only mention this because it is the biggest complaint I get when recommending to friends. And I was thinking about it, it’s still less than a gym membership and that didn’t work for me either... Anyways, I loved the daily articles (really helped change my relationship with food!) and the science behind losing weight. I ended up losing almost 20lbs in 4 months (goal was 30) and I’ll be honest, that last month I barely logged and definitely didn’t meet my step goals. So I can only blame myself. But like I said, the app changed my relationship with food—so even though I wasn’t active I had still learned/trained myself to make healthy choices and the weight wasn’t (isn’t) coming back. It’s not a diet or counting calories, it’s learning about how the body works with food and using that knowledge to meet your goals. Would DEFINITELY recommend.
  • Unfair billing practices

    By Ellen.era
This app seems like it could have helped me to manage my weight better, but I am totally put off by their billing practices. Apparently once a charge is made, the funds are not refundable. I feel like because of the relatively steep price tag, at the very least they should let you know when they’re about to charge you to continue your subscription. I’ve sent an email but I doubt the results will be favorable. That’s unfortunate. I would have liked to perhaps continue to use the app in the future; I just didn’t have the time to really engage with the app as I have a newborn baby at home, and the program doesn’t seem to have any options geared toward nursing mothers.
  • The Best

One of the easiest diet programs I’ve ever followed.
  • Game changer

    By Blue-eyes!
Noom has not only provided the emotional support and encouragement I've needed to keep going forward in my weight losing adventure, but it has also given me information, facts, and concrete tools that are helping me finally master the naysaying demons that have foiled all my efforts n the past. I believe I am going to make it all the way to my goal finally!
  • Just Okay

The weighing and food tracking components work well. The coaching and group support was not helpful in my experience.
  • Good idea abysmal execution of app

I have tried this program for almost 6 months. I really like the idea of caloric density. However almost everything else about the program needs reworking starting with the app. Entering meals is much less user friendly than MyFitnessPal and trying to follow group conversations is impossible. In my group, the majority of the participants have complained about how unfriendly it is. For instance, if you start a conversation thread or comment on someone else’s and another participant responds, you will get a notice but good luck trying to find it. I gave up on the group because of it. Then there’s the individual mentor assigned to you. Most of the contact between myself and my mentor felt like canned responses on her part. I never felt like she was really invested in my weight loss. Additionally, when I did try to start an actual conversation with her it would take DAYS for a response. For a while I thought that was just my bad luck, but my husband signed up and quit after two weeks because of the same thing. Then there are the articles assigned. All is the articles are new for the first 2 months, but after that they are recycled so I have given up on those too. Finally, if you do pay for the program then decide you want to quit, there is no prorate. You’re stuck until the end of the 2 months you prepay for which is why I have stuck with it for almost 6 months. I lost track of when I started and missed the deadline before the end of my 4th month to tell Noom I wanted out. So I was forced to pay for another 2 months. The money I have spent on this program is not worth the little amount of weight I have lost.
  • Better than some diet plans

    By Hillysghdiggy
The intuitive eating strategy is nice, no punishments for enjoying a cookie or going over calorie budget. It’s a lot more realistic and supportive compared to other diet plans. I did the two week trial for $1, but for a 4 month plan, it’s a little pricey for what I’m looking for ($130). But my biggest complaint is in order to cancel the subscription I have to message my “goal specialist” instead of just doing it from the app. Not a huge fan.
