  • Really comprehensive weight loss app

    Noom covers everything: food logging, step counts, group support, goal-setting, coaching. And it works! It’s a little overwhelming sometimes (weight loss is HARD), but with Noom, I feel supported, everything is done with humor and backed by science, and you can’t argue with results. 4 weeks in, I’m down 7 pounds and excited to continue.

    I have only used Noom for a little over a week but I find it to be The Tool I’ve needed to finally lose weight! I Definitely am Grateful for the mental challenges to release this weight! I have needed help with this!! I’ve used many diets and I know am able to eat foods I like now and not feel badly if I eat a cookie! Hahaha! Thank you Noom!

    The foods are a hit or miss. I’ve discovered many errors in calories and nutritional info. Also, while the majority of people will probably lose weight, age plays a HUGE part of this and that is not really taken into consideration.

    I joined and really tried to give it my best shot. However, I agree with so many of the negative reviews here. 1. The Goal Specialist is nothing more than someone cut and pasting stock answers. I expressed some specific concerns, her answers were very generic or didn’t truly acknowledge the issue. The personal interaction is what I liked at the very beginning but it quickly became apparent that they start strong and then it drops off once you are past the two week trial. 2. The group format is so chaotic, it’s annoying and difficult to follow. 3. The articles have good info, but they throw a lot of info at you and there aren’t efficient ways to follow up with all the things you are committing to change or do each day. You would think they’d have a journal or notes section of the app. And there are SO. MANY. ACRONYMS. I can barely remember what all their little code names mean. 4. The food tracker is sub par compared to other available for free or much cheaper. 5. The program seems decent during the trial period, but I felt like it definitely dropped off after a few weeks, which conveniently means you then can not get a refund of your $150 dollars (which is such poor customer service, because I sent feedback about how I felt they weren’t providing the product they advertised and my feedback was not addressed). I did notice that at that point I suddenly stopped hearing from my Goal Specialist. I am reading about a lot of people that didn’t get their refunds properly so I hope that doesn’t become an issue for me in the future. I’m going back to MFP.

    SOMETHING THEY TRY TO HIDE IS THE FACT THAT YOU WILL BE BILLED EVERY 6 MONTHS. If you are not sure if you want to do it, after your two week trial SURPRISE! You’re billed for half a year. They do not make that clear. If it would have been clear then i wouldn’t have been this angry. Also they always say to message your goal specialist and when I did to ask questions about this I got NO REPLY. No help. Nothing. So I did some digging and find out that they billed every 6 months. This is a joke. Don’t fall into this trap.

    This app is a scam. They say you can “cancel at anytime” but sign you up for large chunks of time. I tried to cancel after a month and instead of just being out the $19 for one month of service, they said I was liable for $152 because I was signed up for an 8-month plan and they have a “no refund” policy.

    I truly never thought I would say I love a diet plan. But Noom is not a diet plan, it is a change in mind, soul and body. It’s been 4 weeks and I can not believe it’s truly been a breeze! I’ve lost 6 pounds, this is not a sprint it’s a journey to a better life, focusing on being present in today. Taking time to enjoy your meals, nourishing your body and brain😉. What a concept. Bonus great humor for daily inspiration and knowledge. I recommend with all my renewed heart, soul and body!
