Noom is an excellent app for eating and maintaining a healthy weight. I didn’t want a starve yourself plan and this is it! Awesome support too.

I was hopeful but I believe Noom May follow the Food Pyramid which is a joke. My calories were set to 1400 and you can’t do a paleo or Keto way of life on that. Just yet another miss on the diet/ lifestyle change front.

This has been such an easy program to use and I’ve tried a lot of them! I’m confident that this is the program that I’m finally going to get results with.
  • Great!

I loved the appl tbh. But I realized I wasn’t going to be able to afford the $149 payment after my trial so I unfortunately needed to cancel. I went to do so before the subscription ended and was prompted by the site to stay with Noom at a lower rate. So I accepted. I got confirmation, took screenshots and moved on. Then after my trial my subscription was cancelled!! I’ve tried reaching out to them 3 times to no avail. I would love to continue with the program but I’m going to delete the appl if they don’t respond. Customer set is clearly lacking.

Been overweight most of my life with lots of dieting to no avail. Thought I knew what to eat but was making poor choices. I think this is going to work. 5 pounds gone the first week!

This really is a good app and program, and for some it might be the right choice. I had been keeping my own food journal, albeit inconsistently when I heard about Noom on NPR. I gave myself a dope slap and exclaimed,”Of course there’s an app for that!” The free trial was great and within a 1-2 day learning curve I was journaling my meals. I was not as captivated by the coaching feature as I meet with my MD monthly, and unlike many MDs this guy is way into nutrition. Nonetheless I read my coach’s introductory comments and was unconvinced that it was not all canned. As for the support group towhich one is assigned after the trial, “Uh, nah, not for me”. The articles on the psychology of food consumption, triggers, food categories, etc., they’re great, but info I’d already obtained from other sources over the years. I had not yet been won over to the $200 yearly subscription, which I believe is the cheapest option. Then Noom told me I need to be measuring my daily steps. Another “Duh,” and self-inflicted dope slap. Where the hell is that Fit Bit from years ago? No matter, my phone will do it for me and Noom can tally the results. This is all pretty cool. Then a message came through from my coach: something along the lines of, “You’re a wonderful human being, off to a great start and the world owes you a considerable debt just for existing. Keep logging those meals and I’ll check in with you Wednesday”. Hmm, is this a real person or a bot? There’s a head shot of her - looks to be on a beach, but I don’t know. I answered with a simple, “K”. I got an immediate thumbs up icon reply. Something about it seemed real, I decided. Just for fun, I decided to read some reviews. Others exclaimed that “Lose It” has a superior meal logger. Checked it out and very quickly agreed with the reviewers. Here’s why: 1. The bar code scanner rules! Works every time, even on the most obscure item. 2. I could record, log in, and SAVE my recipes. No need to log in all 7 breakfast items daily, which stay the same each day. After a long walk I returned to my Noom app - frozen. Stayed that way at least a minute. Suddenly it jolted back to life, updated my step log and reported for duty. Next time I accessed the app, the same thing, ever since I turned the pedometer. This was a bit aggravating. I had also downloaded Noom onto my iPad Mini. I found though that the data did not sync from one device to the other. I now had two pedometers going, one on my phone, one on my iPad. This won’t do. I dashed off a note to support and received a quick reply. Can’t sync devices and iPad not supported. “Remove the app immediately before you get hurt!” Or something like that. Lose It syncs perfectly between every device in my techno-world, even my lap top. So, I’ve kept reading the Noom articles and taking the quizzes each day, and they’re great. But the writing was on the wall - Lose It, for me, is the best choice. To cancel a Noom, one must send a personal message to the coach. I wanted to make this as painless as possible. I was gentle but direct, and she was sorry to see me go. Sigh.
  • I wanted to like it. I tried. They failed.

I thought perhaps after the free trial ended and I was an actual paying customer they would amp it up and try harder. I was wrong. My goal specialist is useless. She doesn’t answer me and doesn’t seem to care one bit about me or my goals. I have no “group” to talk to because my goal specialist is too lazy to add me to one. I contacted support to ask for a new one. No response. I messaged the goal specialist to ask for a new one. No response. I love the content and quizzes and humor but I hate feeling like they took my money and ran off. I see all of these other reviews with the support people saying “I’m so sorry. Email us here and we will help.” No they won’t. I emailed. They didn’t help. Don’t believe their lies.
  • Great program overall

I have been using the Noom app for about two weeks and am so far quite happy. I think the program is one that I can stick with. As far as the app, I’d love to see a feature to log my water. I find that logging it through the meal menu is cumbersome. Also, I’d love to be able to save frequent meals. For example, a regular breakfast for me is an English muffin, an egg, a non fat latte and a little vanilla syrup. I’d love to be able to log this once and repeat for meals that I eat often, rather than enter individual components each time. I’d also like to be able to log my own recipes and save them. But, day to day function is great and overall a good app.
  • No option to cancel or delete account

BEFORE YOU START GIVING THESE PEOPLE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, DATE OF BIRTH, etc., you have to know that there is no real customer service. There is no number you can call to discuss issues with. There are many apps like this and Noom claims to be different, it’s not. I opted to cancel but to my surprise there is no such option. I emailed them and I was told I’d have to wait 30 days for their decision. What???? Anyway, please beware!
