  • Not intuitive enough

    By Brosef87
The concept and approach is great. HOWEVER ... the execution is NOT good. There’s no way anymore for me to easily access the particular magazines and topics that I care most about. For example, I love urban planning and want to go check out the latest articles on that topic and peruse recent articles from some top publishers in that genres. I literally have to go and search for those particular publications. Why? That’s so cumbersome! And not user friendly at all. You guys really need to revamp this app for a better UX/UI so that I can actually interact with it rather than having to scroll endlessly through my home feed until I find the stuff I care about.
  • A different kind of social media

    By Let Your Inner Shine
I feel like I learn so much from articles on here. Most articles are short and quickly digestible with nuggets of wisdom. Anyone can write in medium so it gives you a lot of personal perspectives from people you might not otherwise encounter. If you want to expand your worldview, I definitely recommend Medium.
  • Just What I Was Looking For

    By xStarya
I don’t need all the fancy extras and features of a lot of other sites. I just like to write and I want people to read what I write. I ignored Medium for so long. I was sure it wasn’t right for me. I decided to look again and found out I was wrong. I think this website is brilliant. I love the app as well. I can’t wait to get more into writing on here.
  • Please stay human, Medium.

2018-04-21 Update: The app gained a dark mode sometime recently, which is *far* more important than most developers realize. It is not just an aesthetic preference; it is an *accessibility feature* for some of us. All apps should support dark modes, and I am grateful the Medium developers have added this to their app. ... now if only I could change the icon as well... white is not my friend. Original review: In an industry where automation and algorithms are taking over everything except content creation (... mostly), Medium has remained human so far. That means it's imperfect in places and downright crappy in others. And that's the way it should be. From the hilarious release notes to the sometimes-awful content, Medium is human, and I would love for them to *stay* that way. On a more objective and less editorial note, a dark mode would really make this photosensitive human's reading experience a lot more comfortable. I mostly use the site these days because the app is such an overbearing blast of white that it causes difficulty for me.

  • Finally! Some essential features are here

I'd been waiting for a long time to get a night mode and adjustable font on the app. Finally, they added them. So 5 stars.
  • Night mode still lacking

    By N/A 1234
Night mode needs to be further enhanced. The iOS Kindle app is the benchmark for night reading. **Motion Blur:** Add horizontal (left to right) reading mode like Kindle app - instead of the (current) vertical scrolling that produces a lot of motion blur and makes it difficult to read. See Kindle app for example. **Font Color:** Add other font colors (like grey) that reduce the brightness of the white text. See Kindle app for example. **Filter:** Introduce a night mode filter that reduces brightness further. See Kindle app for example. **First Launch:** Splash / First Launch screen needs to support night mode and not a bright white background.
  • Great App, Wish I could Read More

    By Little_Nerd_Kat
Look, Medium is a truly fantastic app. The articles are interesting and helpful and the topics are easy to find. The design is simple and clean. It would be perfect, but Medium only lets you read a certain amount each month on the free version. Honestly, that is the worst ad of all.
  • Love the Posts!

    Super helpful!
  • Awful

I want to read the DOJ alumni statement on Medium but the signatories are not available to see on my iPhone. It says click here but the list is nowhere. So I try the app, which requires you to sign up or connect through Facebook or Google. Total waste of time. Your site and app are awful.
