Inbox by Gmail App Description

Your email inbox should help you live and work better, but instead it often buries the important stuff and creates more stress than it relieves. Inbox, built by the Gmail team, keeps things organized and helps you get back to what matters. • HIGHLIGHTS - Get the most important information without even opening the message. Check-in for flights, see shipping information for purchases, and view photos from friends right up front. • BUNDLES - Similar messages are bundled together so you can deal with them all at once. And get rid of them with one swipe. • REMINDERS - More than mail, you can add Reminders so your inbox contains all the things you need to get back to. • SNOOZE - Snooze emails and Reminders to come back when you are ready to deal with them: next week, when you get home, or whenever you choose. • SEARCH - Inbox helps you find exactly what you’re looking for— from your upcoming flight to a friend's address— without having to dig through messages. • WORKS WITH GMAIL - Inbox is built by the Gmail team, so all your messages from Gmail are here, along with the reliability and spam protection of Gmail. All of your messages are still in Gmail and always will be.

Killing off inbox is a bad idea, this is by far the best email app ever and I love it on the web too. They can say they are bringing over features to gmail, gmail is still an antiquated email system and will never be the same or as good as inbox. Whoever’s idea this was at google they need to be terminated immediately as they are stuck in the 90’s with gmail. I will continue to use it until it’s final day unless the powers that be at google come to their senses and let it be 😞 Outside of the iPhone X update (I don’t own a X) You need to forget the way you think of Email and try something different. For those of you who keep asking for mark as unread this app isn’t for you it’s not going to happen, instead you have snooze and pinning. I read a lot of reviews saying they did away with pull down to close... they didn’t it still works as intended and btw you can also swipe up to do the same thing. In fact inbox does almost all the things people are saying it doesn’t you just need to spend some time in settings and the help menu Edit: swiping up or down is no longer available but was working at the time of my original post. Google that was one of the best things about inbox 4/28: and swipe up or down is back lol
  • I will miss Inbox. RIP!

Without question, Inbox has been my preferred Gmail experience. Sad to hear that Google is killing it off. I even know senior citizens who liked Inbox after being asked to try it for a few hours and stuck with it. Switching back to the Gmail app experience feels like a step backwards. :(
  • Please Save Inbox

The features of Inbox are perfect for managing my day--emails, reminders, and saved links all integrated into a single feed that I can check throughout the day. The push to switch to the clunky Gmail interface and trade the single Inbox app for a bunch of loosely connected apps is a step in the wrong direction. Inbox lets me pin an email AND make a note to remind myself why I pinned it. That's missing in Gmail. Inbox also lets me set a reminder WITHIN THE INBOX APP and view that reminder in my email feed. Gmail doesn't show reminders in the email feed. That's regression, not progress.

    Don’t bother downloading the app
  • Badge bug

No matter what I do it shows a badge on the app as if I have unread mail. I had to turn off badges because that drives me nuts. If I delete the app and reinstall it, it removes badges for some random period of time before the badge gets stuck on 1 again. Otherwise I love Inbox.
  • Unread?

This app is great, I love the way it sorts mail, and the simple interface for interacting with mail. However, it almost CONSTANTLY says that I have unread mail, and no matter how many times I search my multiple accounts for unread mail, a red 1 still appears on the app.
  • Last update is horrible.

Everything was great for a year. Time to look for a new app as the latest update is buggy. Doesn’t work well with multiple accounts anymore. Why try to fix something that isn’t broken?
  • Why are you doing this to us Google??

Obviously, it began with Gmail, and that was cool for years, but then you gave us Inbox. Now after something like 4 years you’re taking it away!? I’ve already stopped using inbox to check out current gmail, and I have to say, in comparison, I hate gmail. LET US KEEP INBOX!!!!!! What else useful will you take from us ?
