App Reviews

  • Not the OED of Etymology.

    By SalemWitch
I don’t know what this is but it is not the Oxford Dictionary of English Etymology. I accessed that wonderful tome once and the entries were far, far longer. I don’t what this abridged claptrap is but it’s completely useless.

    So helpful!
  • Oxford Dictionary of Etymology

Very disappointing. Multiple words (which are in Webster’s) are not even included in this dictionary and detailed etymology usually incomplete or inadequate.

I bought this app for $10 but I would love to get my money back because it does not work.
  • Etymologies

Love the origin and history of words. This is a great reference source!
  • English Etymology Dictionary

This companion to the Oxford English Dictionary is an excellent tome on everything I need when I look words up for understanding and/or spelling...I am very pleased to own both of these unmatched books...
  • Where you want your roots to show

    By Russell Sveda
Knowing the roots of a word helps with understanding nuances of meaning and spelling. No dictionary is better at this than the OED.
  • So convenient for my work as a narrative therapist, interested in how words shape our experiences.

    By Dee Narrer
I would be even happier with this product if it had even more words or more forms of words.

    Very practical and accurate
  • Technical bug

    By Steve StJohn
The icon indicates an unread “word of the day” even after I opened and read it.
