  • No different than the calendar in the Mac

This program is really a waste of time. It functions ok, but in essence is no different than the calendar that comes with the Mac. If it was half the price I would be happy but for 50.00 it really isn’t worth the price
  • Simply The Best

Fantastical is simply the best calendar solution for macOS, hands down. Calendar management is mundane and tedious, but Fantastical makes adding and managing my various calendars across Google, iCloud (including family shared calendars) and Exchange (at the office) a simple pleasure. Coupled with the iOS release on my iPhone and iPad, Fantastical keeps my time and calendar management operating smoothly. Over the past few years I have run into a couple minor bugs and crashes, but nothing restarting the app didn’t resolve. The only suggestion I think I would make at the moment is a “true” dark mode where not only the sidebar is dark, but the entire UI is dark.
  • Awesome App, but ...

It’s very hard to update. I manually quit Fantasical & still get feedback that the update can’t be installed because of a running extension for Spotlight. When I open Activity Monitor there’s nothing running under Fantastical, so I try again and get the same error. So then I Force Quit Spotlight and am able to install the update. For anyone following along, once you Force Quit spotlight, go back to the Update screen in the MacOS App Store and click update. Spotlight will start up on its own immediately. My assumption is that re-starting Fantastical also launches Fantastical’s Spotlight plugin (which was the process that impeded updating the app).
  • Decent app - not worth $50 bucks

Decent calendar app. Frankly no where as revolutionary as the reviews may say. I was hoping for a product that makes it easier to manage my calendar, but it is not that better than the basic Outlook calendar. I was hoping to return it but couldn’t do that either as the company that sells this product doesn’t support that either.
  • Misleading

The developers need to do a better job of making it clear that this is NOT a calendar app. Instead, you are paying for a new front-end to your existing calendars. If you do not link any of your existing you can’t even add an event to this. Had I known, I would’ve saved my money.
  • Very Unreliable with Exchange

I like Fantastical. It works well with my person Google Calendar. However, the bulk of my calendering needs are with my work’s Exchange server. It is extreamly unreliable with syncing with it. I’ve been caught of gaurd with surprise meetings that were not synced or updated probably in Fantastical. At this point I have 0 faith in what it shows and do not use it.

I have used Fantastical every day for the past two years, and can’t tell you how much I like it. It keeps me organized, and all of the little features you think shoud be there are all there. It’s well-deisgned, well-supported, and just works for me… every day. Recommended!
  • You’ll never use Calendar again

Simple, easy to use, and powerful all at once. Plus, much more readable on-screen, at least to me, than Apple’s Calendar app.
  • Utter waste of money (and time) ...

Has the same drawback as Vanilla Calendar in terms of a terrible looking event details window. No ability to e-mail participants or forward an event (cleanly) Did not see an availability chcking option Pulling up contacts is slow
  • Perfect name for a Calendar app

I needed help. My work uses Office 365 where we also have three conference rooms (each having their own calendar). I also work heavily with a university who uses Google - so I have my own email account for that as well as various calendars for groups and individuals. On top of THIS, my wife and I have our own calendar on iCloud where we manage our own family events and things. Talk about the perfect storm of different services, right? Well for a while I tried pulling some calendars into one app vs another, into Mail, etc - there was always something that didn’t quite work or was very very very combersome. And frankly, I was missing out on some important family events as I was usually just looking in my work calendar - and I’m a stickler for keeping work with work, and personal with personal. Then I found Fantastical. No it’s not free or cheap - but it’s worth it. I keep learning new things now and again while using it, but overall it does everything I need it to do, it looks awesome and most importantly I’m no longer missing out on family functions…unless I have a very good excuse. So if you are like me and you’re trying to juggle various different types of calendars, give this a try. It might even save your marriage.
