  • Nice program, major sync headaches

Bought it, liked it, but the sync function seems erratic; it syncs fine, desktop to mobile devices, but not in the reverse direction. Tech support made suggestions, but they did not address the problem. Finally uninstalled and went back to Google Calendar, which isn't as pretty, but seems to work pretty reliably.
  • Nice…..but...

Edit: I recently made the jump to Office 365 and was mortified to find out that Fantastical does NOT work with Office 365 Calendar. Original review below. I purchased Fantastical for one feature……...to get a view with my tasks integrated with my Calendar. It does that very well. After using it for a week, I’m not sure it it was worth the cost. The tasks are a re-skinning of the Apple Reminders app. Not a horrible thing, just make sure you have enabled Apple “Reminders” in your icloud settings. The date & time recognition works, but if seems gimmicky to me, and sometimes gets in the way. For example, If I create a task “Finish Design of T-shirts for 4th of July Parade", it automatically enters the reminder on my calendar (which I didn’t want) on July fourth. It does this even when I force the app not to do this during the creation of the event. This forces me to go in and make a correction to the task after the fact. I wish I could turn this feature off. I like the dark theme, the ability to set colors to tasks from different lists, and the menubar quick view option for both tasks and calendars. If you have the $50 to spend, I’d say it’s worth it…..especially if you spend a lot of time in your Calendar and Reminders app, and you want a combined task/cal view. If not, just use Apples built in calendar application. I think Flexbits would sell a lot more of this app if the price point were more like $29.95. Bottom line: very nice app. Absolutely 5 stars. However, two points off for price point.
  • Is this a joke??

The ONLY thing about this is a slightly different interface with more info. The phone app is GARBAGE, not to mention you have to pay again for it. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. Just use your normal calender, it's the best.
  • By far the best calendar software I've used

One of the most essential apps I use. Has a beautiful UI, great parsing of natural text for entering new entries, lives in the menu bar where I can look at my schedule any time, has a great full-size mode for larger-scale planning. Absolutely essential. One of the best apps I have ever purchased.
  • 2 Reasons it's not 5 stars:

    1. While the latest Mac version has a true Dark theme—which is very nice—that is still missing in the iOS version. Seems to me that a true "Dark Theme" would eliminate the bright white large percentage of the interface. 2. Calendar syncing in the Mac version is still sluggish. Fix these 2 two issues and I'll revise my review to 5 stars.
  • Perfect for working with other time zones

I love just about everything about Fantastical. The thing that I love most is the ability to have the calendar display 2 time zones simultaneously, and also to be able to change time zones without digging into settings. Works perfect when scheduling for co-workers and clients who live around the globe.

Tech support is terrible. No response to emails sent to the tech support desk. No telephone number provided for assistance. Purchase this app at your own peril.

I have tested several calendar apps. This is the only one still in use by me. This is further better than iCal (i have to admit). it worthwhile the $$ spent. Just a comment for the seller….why “MAY 17” on the calendar icon? Pls sinchronise the actual date to the calendar icon, so that it will be visualise the date directly from the imac bar. this update woudl deserve you the 5th star!!
  • Overall, great

I love Fantastical and use it on all my Apple devices. The natural language-based entry system in particular is a life saver when I'm trying to enter an appointment quickly on my phone in a situation where my attention is divided. Just a few spoken words and voila! I have my calendar entry. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that it can be slow to sync across devices. In particular, it sometimes seems as though I have to have the calendar actually open on my iOS devices, sometimes for a full minute or more, for it to fully sync. I haven't been able to fully diagnose the conditions in which the sync problems occur. They aren't bad enough that they've caused me to miss meetings, but I have occasionally had to open my calendar and wait for the sync before I can, for example, get the number I need to dial into a call. If they can improve the sync problem, then this app will be perfect for my needs.
