Google Wifi App Description

The Google Wifi app lets you set up and control your Google Wifi points or OnHub right from your mobile device. It puts you in control of your network -- easily share your Wi-Fi password, see what devices are online, prioritize them for better performance, or pause the Wi-Fi on kids’ devices. The app also provides insights to help you get the most out of your Wi-Fi. Here’s what you can do with the Google Wifi app: • Set up your Google Wifi system or OnHub in just a few minutes • Prioritize a device for faster speeds when it matters most • Pause the Wi-Fi on kids’ devices • See what’s connected to your network and how much bandwidth you’re using • Create a separate network for your guests • Run a network check to test your connection speed • Make changes to your settings, such as your Wi-Fi network name and password • Add a network manager who can help you monitor your Wi-Fi

  • Google WiFi

I really enjoy the google WiFi and it’s very easy to manage settings. I feel that the app lacks some features such as removing devices from the network. I would really like to see this feature added to the app. Other than that the app works great.
  • Great but crashes completely ruin it

Whenever I attempt to edit my DNS settings in the Google WiFi app, it will crash everytime. It's extremely annoying and the fact that I can't edit my wifi settings with a computer makes it even worse.
  • Buggy update

Recent update isn’t pausing the devices. It’s throwing failure messages every when pausing and un-pausing the device.
  • Difficult to set up

But once you do it’s legit.

Device priority does not work. I set my PS4 for priority. At the same time I tried to download a large file on my laptop just to test it. My PS4 dropped the connection and kicked me off it stalled so bad. I also tried to set my laptop as priority while making my desktop download a file. The laptop wouldn’t budge until the desktop finished the file. Maybe I’m missing something, it it seems prioritization doesn’t work as it should. Also, I shouldn’t have to set groups just to pause a connection. I should simply be able to choose a device in the device list and have the pause function there.
  • Amazing

I did a fair amount of research about devices like these prior to settling on the Google WiFi and I can say it exceeded my expectations. The reviews I read seemed to all concede that the mesh devices available on the market are all pretty solid but Google hit the nail on the head due to ease of setup. I made a mistake by placing one of the access points just a bit too far from the base station which made the app kind of wig out. Once I fixed my mistake and went back into setup it took all of 10 minutes to set up three. Setup is rather generous because you don’t really have to do anything you just keep clicking next and the app sets it all up for you. Anyone in a large home, or a moderate sized older home with tons of walls like myself, should get this. It’s truly an amazing product.
  • Needs to support iPad

This app really needs to come in an iPad version
  • App worked great to start, but now freezes and crashes

    By aajuhn
This app worked great about a year ago and now when I tried to add more access points the app will lock up as it’s processing a task. Also, the cloud services option keeps deselecting itself so that I can’t view any useful information about my network. Then when I try to turn the cloud services back on it locks up as it’s “saving changes”. This app needs to be debugged.
  • Setup couldn’t complete

Took over 5 and a half hours (over a few days) of tech support to try and get the app to work - to no avail. Customer service was nice and , but in the end, the app syncing was unsuccessful. Thé router itself looks to have improved my WiFi performance on my devices. I’m grateful for that!

I updated the app and now it says my email has been disabled and now I can’t check my WiFi ports.
